What costs what
You pay in credits from your organization's balance. Prices follow your agreement. Before you run a call, an estimate returns its price, and the call never charges more than that.
Free: capabilities, usage, guide, send_feedback (within a daily limit), and any call made with estimate: true.
Charged:
- a base price for every paid call, including calls that return nothing;
- a first-seen price for every niche or project shown to your organization for the first time in the current coverage period, wherever it appears: a result list, a niche sample, a hierarchy, a neighbor list, the niche list of a project card (the card's own niche is free);
- in
lookup_domain, the base price for every distinct domain, found or not; - a reveal price for every project in
reveal_projectthat your organization does not already hold revealed throughreveal_project, projects found withlookup_domainincluded; - a part price for each audience, channels (traffic sources) or keywords (search demand) part of a project that your organization does not already hold;
- with
precision: exact, a surcharge for every revealed project on every call.
Coverage. Your organization has a coverage budget per period: every niche or project shown to it for the first time in the period uses one unit. A lookup_domain hit and a reveal also use one unit of coverage for a project first shown in the period, but are not charged the first-seen price for it. A project your organization holds revealed also uses one unit of coverage when first shown in a new period, without the first-seen price. Showing the same niche or project again within the period costs neither the first-seen price nor coverage; the call itself still costs its base price. usage shows the period, the remaining coverage and the balance. A wide search can use up either coverage or balance, so check both first.
Estimate first. Any paid tool accepts estimate: true and returns the charge, the coverage the call would use, and a quote_token. To run it, call the same tool with only quote_token: the call executes exactly what was estimated and charges no more than the estimate. If your organization has meanwhile received some of it, the charge is lower; entities that appeared after the estimate are left out. A token runs once and is valid for a few minutes; if it expires, estimate again. Your organization may require an estimate for some tools: a call to such a tool without one returns a quote, which you run with quote_token.
